DEEP WATER - A Detroit man is in custody for the drug charges after being arrested in Fayette County earlier this afternoon.
At around 4:30pm Friday afternoon a deputy from the Fayette County Sheriff's Department attempted to stop a black dodge avenger in the Deep Water area for traffic offenses. After a brief pursuit, the deputy pulled over 44-year-old Shawn Laprelle Booker of Detroit Michigan.
Inside the vehicle 80 30mg roxycodone pills were discovered, with an estimated street value of $2400. Booker was taken into custody and charged with a felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Booker is being arraigned in Fayette County Magistrate Court. Booker is out on bond following a previous arrest in Nicholas County for drug trafficking offenses. The incident remains under investigation.
