OAK HILL - Organizers are preparing for an annual festival in Oak Hill this weekend that promotes the different uses of tea.
The Tea Festival is Saturday at 225 Church Street. The festival encourages the use of tea as medicine, not just as a beverage, according to organizers. Different teas will be sold throughout the day and educational conferences will be held.
Founder Hassan Amjad said the event brings people together. “That’s very encouraging that you have a community spirit,” said Amjad. “That all these people come in for one good reason: to meet other people and celebrate.”
A sketch featuring this year’s theme of the Chinese Empress will also be performed. The Tea Festival is Saturday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
