BECKLEY - It's been a month since the Boy Scout Jamboree left many service projects in our area.

The Raleigh County Commission met Tuesday morning in which an update on the how many of community service projects in Raleigh county took place the scouts impacted the community with more hours of service than many ever expected.

"We estimate that there were about 300,000 hours of community service given for the region summit community service initiative by scouts. We had thousands of volunteers, we feel like the initiative was worth it, we had several worth while projects, we estimate we had about more 350 projects with the scouts," said Stephen Deal with the New River Gorge Development Authority.
