OAK HILL - School starts this week for Fayette County and teachers are putting in their last minute work.

New River Elementary is preparing for the start of the school year. Teachers are organizing their classrooms and the hallways to get ready for all the kids. They say it's a lot of work, but it's worth all the work.

"Well this is exciting, it's an exciting time for teachers. I've actually been up here several times over the summer. People think were off during the summer, we're really not. We're up here working, taking classes teaching other teachers, I've been working all summer and I'm just ready to see my kids on Thursday," said kindergarten teacher, Courtney Vargo.

"Just an exiting time to get everything new and get the desks ready and your new class lists and you're just looking forward to wow, what is this year going to bring," said 4th grade teacher Sandra Whitaker.

School starts Thursday for Fayette County schools.
