FAYETTE COUNTY - Some Fayette County schools have been improved over the summer break.
Roofs on Fayetteville Elementary's main building, Gauley Bridge Elementary and Mount Hope Elementary have been upgraded and repaired. Valley High School, Midland Trail and Fayetteville High School also received repairs inside and out side of the school. The amount of work completed is making school officials happy.
"We've been very busy and we're tremendously pleased with the projects we've been able to complete this summer but we do realize we have much to do in terms of improving our facilities," said Associate Superintendent Dr. Serena Starcher.
"It is imperative that we continue to progress to improve our facilities and we are working on a long term plan on doing just that," said Starcher.
The school board was notified by the state to make these improvements.
