RAINELLE - A poker run in Rainelle is set to help give out scholarships to local schools.

Owner of Western Auto in Rainelle, Paul Raines, is organizing the 7th annual poker run for September 7th in memory of his daughter Lindsey Raines.

"My daughter passed away in December of 2006 and she was working at the Harley shop in Hico and going to Mountain State but a bunch of my friends got together and wanted to have a memorial ride and what I saw it was going to be pretty big so I said 'well let's have a poker run' and it did well enough that we were able to give out scholarships," said Raines.

The poker run has given out $34,000 in scholarships to four schools in the Rainelle area and hopes to continue to grow. To pre-register for the event call (304) 438-7102.
