OAKVALE - About 400 homes in Mercer County will no longer have to rely on wells for water.
The valve-turning ceremony was scheduled for Friday at 11:00 a.m. to celebrate the completion of a water line extension. The expansion will serve customers in the Oakvale area. The Oakvale Road Public Service District Manager Pamela Browning said that many of the residents' wells were contaminated with E. Coli and coliform bacteria.
Browning said they are also asking for funding for another project in the Elgood-Cheesy Creek area.
