BERKELEY SPRINGS - State police say it's been more than six decades since a woman was found dead in Morgan County, and they are still no closer to uncovering her identity. The case has since become known as the Redhead Murder case, after a woman's nude body was found strangled to death on May 10th of 1950 along old U.S. 522. State Police Sergeant Danny Swiger says he worked on the incident as a cold case investigator for a number of years, and that thousands of hours were put into this case. In 2007, her body was exhumed so a DNA profile could be created after two families inquired about her death, but the DNA did not match either family.
