FAIRLEA - The last day for the state fair is Saturday but Saturday night is when a lot of the real fun begins.

The fireworks are set to go off at 10:30 p.m. so if you haven't been yet, now is your chance. The fireworks are a little different than in years past and organizers say it makes for a better show.

"I think the final day is always a bit sad and happy too maybe in different ways," said Marlene Jolliffe. "We're shooting more fireworks and using lower fireworks, I guess you would use the word cascading and it's an interesting effect in addition to the large and very high ones, because your so close here when you watch our fireworks it's pretty special."

Vendors at the fair have been in business ever since the rain stopped earlier in the week. Some of them say the rain didn't stop people from buying their favorite treats and they are happy with this years turnout.
