Woodhaven Golf Course holds tournament benefiting Boy Scouts

SHADY SPRING - A golf tournament at Woodhaven benefits the local boy scouts this afternoon.

Woodhaven Golf Course hosted golf tournament for Fayette, Raleigh, Greenbrier, Pocahontas and Summer counties Boy Scout Troops. The scouts presented the flag to kick off the tournament and the scout chairman for the district explains why the community event helpful.

"Scouting is about offering really good programs to those scouts and it requires money so we are here trying to raise money and this goes to day camps and to run summer camps and to help run council here," said Doug Proctor.

The golfers also had a chance to purchase tickets to win raffle prizes.
