Man is airlifted to hospital after car accident

UPDATE: 

ANSTED - A man was airlifted to the hospital after losing control of his truck and driving his off a 35-foot embankment Sunday night in Ansted, according to firefighters.

Dispatchers said they received the call at 9:08 p.m. of the accident off River Road near Hawks Nest State Park. The Fayette County Rope Rescue Team along with Nuttall and Fayetteville Fire Departments performed a high-angle rescue of the man, according to Ansted Firefighters. The man's truck was pinned between a sharp rock.

Jan Care, General Ambulance and Fayette County Sheriff's Department, according to dispatchers. 

Firefighters said the victim remained stable and alert when he was airlifted to Charleston Area Medical Center. The Fayette County Sheriff's Department is handling this investigation.

ANSTED - A man was airlifted to the hospital after driving his car off a 30-foot cliff Sunday night in Ansted.

Dispatchers said they received the call of the accident at 9:08 p.m. off River Road. Ansted, Nutall, Fayetteville and Oak Hill Fire Departments performed a high-angle rescue of the man, who was entrapped underneath the car. Jan Care, General Ambulance and Fayette County Sheriff's Department. 

No word yet on the extent of the victim's injuries or what may have caused this accident. The Fayette County Sheriff's Department is handling this investigation.
