Kanawha Co. has highest pseudoephedrine sales in W.Va.

CHARLESTON - Kanawha County leads the mountain state in per-capita sales of pseudoephedrine, a common cold and allergy medicine used to make methamphetamine.

State figures show more than 52,000 boxes of pseudoephedrine have been sold in the county since January, which is 22 percent of the boxes sold statewide. Kanawha County also accounts for 56 percent of all methamphetamine labs seized in West Virginia so far this year.
