CHARLESTON - A nominee to fill an unexpired term of a state legislator is now facing the prospect of losing her law license.

The state Office of Disciplinary Counsel asked the state Supreme Court to suspend Wendy Elswick's law license for her alleged actions as a public defender involving the appeal of a man who killed two people. Elswick is one of three people under consideration to fill the seat of Lincoln County Delegate Josh Stowers, who has taken a job as Deputy to the State Treasurer.

A hearing on Elswick's license is scheduled for September.
