GLEN JEAN - Senator Jay Rockefeller's new public safety law will establish a first responder network and "create better communications during future Boy Scout Jamborees," according to Rockefeller's representatives.

Rockefeller recently authored the Public Safety Spectrum and Wireless Innovation Act, will build a nationwide high-speed network called FirstNet. This network enables first responders to communicate wirelessly.

FirstNet has state-of-the-art data capabilities that will better keep both future Jamboree scouts and the public safe, according to Rockefeller. "FirstNet...is going to absolutely revolutionize first responder communications nationwide," he said. "And it will have a profound impact on future Boy Scout Jamborees."
