BECKLEY - A 17-year-old boy scout on his way to becoming an eagle scout is asking for your help to help young boys in Africa.

Lucas Eans of Beckley is collecting new and used baseball equipment for his eagle scout project, which will be sent to little leagues in Uganda with the help of "Pitch in for Baseball."

Eans got the idea after watching a Uganda team participate in the Little League World Series for the first time. With the help of donations, he hopes to serve a community an entire ocean away.

"I really did it just because I enjoy baseball, and I'm pretty sure everybody else in Uganda would enjoy having nice equipment and being able to play the game," Eans told WOAY.

Anyone wishing to donate youth pants, gloves and bats can contact Eans at 304-253-8792 or drop of donations at the United Methodist Temple.
