MOUNT HOPE - Scouts at the Jamboree are learning what life is like with a disability.
There are twenty different activities the scouts participate in as part of the Disabilities Awareness Challenge. They completed tasks that may seem like obstacles, but that demonstrate everyday life for people with disabilities. Organizers say they hope the challenge will make the scouts more empathetic.
"I hope they walk away more sensitized to a wider sporty and more prepared for inclusiveness of people they run into," said Boy Scouts of America volunteer Jim Africano.
Scouts who complete the challenge receive a disability awareness merit badge.
