BECKLEY - Governor Earl Ray Tomblin visits Raleigh County today to kick off the state wide campaign of banning texting while driving.
The governor, along with state troopers and state officials spoke today at the Tamarack to kick off the first day of distracted driving laws. The slogan is called "Turn it off, put it down, Just drive," which can be seen on various billboards across the state.
The law goes into effect today and will be a $100 fine for a first offense.
