UPDATE: Rowe indicted on federal child pornography possession charge

UPDATE (July 10, 2013): A Mercer County man was indicted by a federal grand jury for possession of child pornography.

Johnny Richard Rowe, 60, of Bluewell, was charged with possession of child pornography.  The indictment alleged that Rowe had hundreds of pictures and videos of child porn on his computer back on June 19, 2013.  

He faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if he's convicted.

Rowe remained in Southern Regional Jail.

PRINCETON - A Mercer County man is charged with 133 felony counts after State Police found child pornography in his apartment.

Johnny Richard Rowe, 60, of Bluewell was arrested for possession of child pornography. State Police executed a search warrant of his residence on Wednesday, June 19. Rowe was home at the time.

Police found numerous images of child porn on the computer in Rowe's bedroom. Rowe was transported to the Mercer County Sheriff's Department for an interview, where he confessed to actively searching for and knowingly downloading images and videos of child porn to his computer.

After the interview, Rowe was processed in accordance with departmental policy and procedure, after which he was transported to Bluefield City Jail by Deputy K. M. Saddler for holding to await arraignment on Friday.

Rowe is in Southern Regional Jail on $100,000 bond.
