QUINWOOD - More wind turbines are on the way to Greenbrier County after state regulators give the go-ahead.
The West Virginia Public Service Commission approved the Invenergy subsidiary's request to add 33 turbines West of the existing Beech Ridge Energy Wind Farm. The existing site has 67 turbines.
Construction is expected to begin in July and would be finished by the end of the year. The project will create about 150 short-term construction jobs and a handful of facility operation jobs.
The company estimated that the project's price tag is $115 million.
