CHARLESTON - Senator Jay Rockefeller said he will join the growing number of co-sponsors of an act aimed at ending workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
Rockefeller would be the 52nd co-sponsor of the Federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act.
In West Virginia, it is legal for someone to be fired or denied housing based on their sexual orientation. 21 other states have a ban on this type of discrimination.
Rockefeller said that this type of prejudice "needs to be addressed once and for all."
