CHARLESTON - Tim Miley is the new speaker of West Virginia's House of Delegates. The democrat won against the republican nominated candidate Tim Armstead. Miley succeeds Rick Thompson who resigned the legislature to join Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin's cabinet. Miley says although his strong suit is not in education, he is focused on the subject.

"I want to call upon other members who have their natural strength inside the education field to find out what we can do to get inside the minds and mindsets of families here in West Virginia to encourage their children to become more educated and trained," Miley said.

Miley will continue his term until the end of 2014.
