BRADSHAW- McDowell County has regained control of their school systems.
After more than a decade, the West Virginia board of education voted unanimously today to give McDowell county full control. The board also supported the recommendation to keep the current County Superintendent Nelson Spencer in place. They took over the county operations in 2001. The Office of Education Performance Audits conducted an audit in January of this year they determined McDowell County had shown sufficient enough improvement to take back the reins.
