RUPERT - Four people were arrested and charged with attempting to operate a clandestine lab after deputies said they found components of a meth lab both inside and outside of residence in Rupert.

Owen Adkins, II, 30, of Quinwood, Joseph Thomas, 23, of Rupert, Stephanie Thomas, 31, of Rupert, and Sarah Bennett, 23, of Maxwelton, were taken into custody Sunday afternoon.  Chief Deputy Bruce Sloan said that officers with the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Department and the West Virginia State Police followed up on tips that there was drug activity happening at a home on Front Street.  When they arrived, officials found components of a meth lab inside and outside of the house along with other drug paraphernalia.  The Division of Natural Resources was called out to assist with the cleanup because Sloan said some ingredients were found on property owned by West Virginia Wildlife Management.

The suspects are currently in Southern Regional Jail.
