Reward offered to help in dead puppies investigation

BLUEFIELD - The humane society is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for dumping more than ten dead pit bull puppies outside of Bluefield.

Tips can bee called into the Mercer County Animal Control Officer Tracy Monninger at (304)-487-8364.  The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office is helping with the investigation. 

The dead puppies were found over the weekend.  

The deaths came less than a week after Bluefield's Board of Directors banned owning new pit bulls inside city limits.
