FAYETTEVILLE-Cinco de Mayo is fast approaching, and what better way to celebrate than by eating a six pound burrito?  Diogi's in Fayetteville will be holding their fifth annual burrito eating contest on Sunday, May 5, also known as Cinco de Mayo.  Cooks at the restaurant will prepare the six pound burritos using undisclosed ingredients.  Live entertainment will be provided, and a tent will be set up outside where folks can get food.  And, new this year, beer will be permitted in the tent as well.  General Manager Amy Shumate says the event is family and dog friendly, and the half hour contest is crazy, loud, and a little bit gross.  Five contestants have 30 minutes to eat as much of a six pound burrito as they can.  The remaining burrito is then weighed, and whoever has eaten the most wins.  There will be trophies as well as prizes and giveaways.  If you would like to enter the contest, sign up at the restaurant by Friday evening.  Five people will be chosen at random on Saturday morning.
