PINEVILLE - Wyoming County authorities have charged a local man with dragging a dog with his all terrain vehicle.

Lt. Brad Ellison of the Wyoming County Sheriff's Department tells Newswatch Jerry Lee Hill, 64, of Saulsville, is facing felony animal cruelty charges for tying an adult male boxer to his four wheeler and dragging him away.  Investigators said the suspect had given conflicting reports but witnesses told the police they saw the animal alive.  Ellison said the dog was found at a rock pile in the Itmann area of Wyoming County. The animal had been shot in the head.

Hill was arraigned in Magistrate Court and released after posting a $5,000 bond. By law he will be required to appear in court within the next 20 days.
