BECKLEY - Twelve people have been targeted in Beckley's Pill Initiative.

Police said so far ten people have been arrested.  These are all federal crimes where most charges stem from controlled prescription drug buys.  These cases have been ongoing, but U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin decided to bring the pill initiative to Raleigh County.  Police said they hope this is a message to the community.

"Prescriptions drugs is obviously the main problem right now and majority of West Virginia. I think it sends a message that if you sell pills you're going to go to jail no questions asked. So if this is not a deterant I don't know what would be," said Beckley Chief of Detectives, Gant Montgomery.

The ten suspects that have been arrested will be heading to Southern Regional Jail.
