HINTON - About 30 people, who were displaced in last week's structure fires in Hinton, can pick up clothing and bedding next week.
Mayor Joe Blankenship said donations from City Hall and REACH Family Resource Center are being housed at Hinton's pool and water slide facility. The fire victims will have the opportunity to go there Monday by appointment to pick out any items they need.
Blankenship said both the city and county came together with donations to help those in need. "Our community always rallies behind each other and that's what makes me so proud," he explained. "When people are in need, Summers County comes through."
Officials for REACH said so far, at least four of the twelve families displaced by the fires have found permanent housing.
