UPDATE: Fund set up to help fire victims

DANIELS - A neighbor of the family displaced by a fire in Daniels over the weekend set up a fund to help get them back on their feet.

The fire happened Saturday at a house on Grandview Road.

Neighbor Sherry McMillion said she set up the fund Monday to help the family in their time of need. "It breaks my heart because it could be my home," she said. "Everything that they worked for was gone in just a matter of minutes."

You can donate at any local City National Bank branch to the "Mike and Heather Fire Fund." Checks can be made out to Sherry McMillion.

DANIELS - A neighbor of the family displaced by a fire in Daniels over the weekend has set up a fund to help get them back on their feet.

You can donate at any City National Bank branch, just mention the "Mike and Heather Fire Fund."  If you are writing a check it has to be made out to Sherry McMillion, the woman who started the fund.  McMillion said that she opened it Monday morning, and donations have already started coming in.

DANIELS - A family is displaced today after a fire guts their home in Raleigh County.

Three fire departments were called out to a home on Grandview Road in Daniels around 1 P.M.

Saturday afternoon. The homeowner said he is not sure what caused the fire.

Neighbors will be setting up a fund for the family to help put them back on their feet.
