UPDATE: Second miner killed in less than two weeks at a Raleigh County mine

UPDATE: MSHA has confirmed John Myles, 44, of Hilltop died Tuesday from his injuries.  The incident happened at 8PM.

SOPHIA - A second man has died in less than two weeks at a Raleigh County coal mine.

According to preliminary information given to Newswatch by the Mine Safety and Health Administration the man was hit by a scoop Tuesday evening which caused him to loose consciousness.  He was taken to Raleigh General Hospital where he later died. 

It is the Metinvest Mining, Affinity Coal Company, Affinity Mine. 

MSHA is investigating.
