Welcome Back Winter.

Good morning all. It certainly has been a crazy week of weather here in Southern West Virginia. After Tuesday's record breaking highs and yesterday's torrential rains, it seems silly to think that today is going to bring snow to the region, but it's the truth! The rain has already transitioned over to snow for most of us and we will continue to see the flakes fly through the majority of the day with accumulations through Friday of 1 to 4 inches.

Highs will be significantly cooler than what we've been used to over the last couple days, with most of us stuck in the mid to upper 20's. Unfortunately that will feel like a heat wave compared to tomorrow morning's lows of single digits and highs in the teens.

Snow will linger off an on through a majority of the weekend and temperatures will stay winter-like in the 20's and low 30's. Monday finally brings a slight break in this active pattern and warmer weather finally arrives on Tuesday, (not much warmer however).

Extended Forecast:

Today: Mostly cloudy, breezy and snowy with highs in the mid to upper 20's

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with lingering snow. Lows in the lower 20's before dropping down into the teens through the overnight.

Tomorrow: Partly cloudy with morning lows in the single digits. Lingering snow throughout the day. Highs in the upper teens.

Saturday: Partly cloudy with lingering snow showers. Highs near 30 and lows in the lower teens.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy with snow showers. Highs in the upper 20's and lows in the lower 20's.

Monday: Partly cloudy and cold with highs in the lower 20's and lows in the low teens.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy and a typical January day. Highs in the upper 30's and lows in the lower 20's.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy with a slight chance of wintery mix. Highs in the upper 30's lows in the mid 20's.
