FAYETTEVILLE - At Fayette County Commission approved the zoning for a communications tower at the new 911 Center.
The County Commission gave the green light at Friday's meeting for the
installation of a 300-foot cell-supported tower at the dispatch center.
The meeting was also to keep the Commission posted on the construction
process, according to zoning officials.
David Neal, the 911 director, said he is anticipating the new dispatch
center. "Looking forward to getting our brand new communications
building and having all our new equipment, bringing us up to the current
standards as far as state of the art goes," he said. He explained the
new center will provide, "Much improved communications for the response
agencies, and better service to the public."
A special-use permit hearing will be held before the Zone of Appeals on
March 4 at 5 p.m. The hearing will be open to the public.
