Appalachian Power said it's making preparations for possible power outages from the storm expected to bring heavy, wet snow to it's service areas in Southern West Virginia.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning starting at noon Thursday through the early morning hours on Friday with four to eight inches of snow expected, and even more in higher elevations.  Appalachian Power officials said contract line workers, damage assessors, and tree crews are ready to respond to the storm.  The company also said it will bring in outside help if needed.
