Stabbing in Rock Creek sends man to hospital

ROCK CREEK - Authorities released the name of the victim of Sunday's early-morning stabbing in Rock Creek.

Guy Cantley was found stabbed just after 2 a.m. Sunday on Upper Rock Creek Road, according to the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department. Cantley was initially transported to Raleigh General Hospital and then transferred to a hospital in Charleston.

At this time, no one has been arrested in connection to the crime.

Neighbor Judy Dickens said the area used to be a wonderful community, but she does not think it is safe anymore. "We have to go to bed at night with a gun beside of our bed," she said. "We have to carry a gun in our car when we come back after dark cause we don't know who might be lurking around the corner."

Dispatchers said a man was found stabbed just after 2 a.m. in the Upper Rock Creek Road area of Rock Creek. The victim was transported to Raleigh General Hospital.
