Hundreds flocked to the
Crossroads Mall Saturday for the final weekend of shopping before
Folks said although the mall was crowded, it was still manageable to walk around. Clyde Treadway said it was not as crowded as he thought it would be. "I'm the kind
of guy that hates to get out those last two days [before Christmas] because you can't
breathe, so it's better than I expected," he said.
Some shoppers were behind and hoping to get all of their presents this weekend, while others only had to buy a few last-minute items.
Meagan Brown, a student at West Virginia University, said she has not had time to shop until now. "Today is my first, and hopefully my last, day of Christmas shopping," she said.
But not everyone procrastinated this year. "I've done a little bit of shopping earlier this week, and now it's finishing up the day and getting ready for Tuesday," said Jeff Reyfields.
Many malls and local stores have extended hours this weekend.
