Snowy Friday....Windy Friday....Freezing Friday.....It’s Friday!!!!

Good Morning Friends.....

We have seen the transition take place through the overnight and the temperatures have started their crash. This is just the start of things to come, so be prepared today. A lot of blowing and drifting snow at this point. Slick conditions due to black ice on untreated roads and bridges are the major concern. It is very windy, with winds sustained over 20 mph in many places...and going up throughout the day. Temperatures will say in the 20s and with the winds gusting over 40 mph at times, the wind chill will be well into the 10s, if not single digits. If you must be on the roadways, take it easy and a few extra minutes to get to your destination.

The heaviest of the snow will start to move in just after lunch time and we are watching for the possibility of banding. This will make visibilities horrible and could spike up snow totals in many neighborhoods in the evening hours. The snow continues through the overnight and will start to taper off during the morning hours of Saturday.

Sticking with the snow forecast as I have seen no indication to change the thought process this morning. It looks like things could get very interesting heading into next week....but again, let’s take things one step at a time.

I will be updating the WOAY Storm Watch Facebook page on a regular basis this morning...and if you enjoy the 140 character version better....we are on Twitter as well, @WOAYStormWatch.
