Mother Nature Cuts Deal, Warm Air Bargained With Showers

Good Thursday Morning!

Well, that bite on the skin as you step out the door will be a quick reminder that it is early December in West Virginia. Temperatures are down below the freezing mark in most neighborhoods. Temperatures will warm up a decent amount today with a surge of warm air moving in from the south and west, with highs around 50 degrees. Weekend weather takes an interesting turn. We will have warmer air continuing to surge on in, but we will be cashing some rain checks that are past due across the region. The warm front that moves through tonight basically stalls out to our north and we will have very weak disturbances run along this system. If the stalled front sinks further south, the likelihood for these showers greatly increases. The weekend will not be a total washout, but have the rain jacket and umbrella handy while shopping this weekend. Early next week still has a lot of question marks with regards to timing and set up of a very strong cold front that will pass through. It could ... and I stress could ... be messy on Tuesday morning, but I want to give it a couple more computer runs before really discussing the possibilities. One thing is pretty certain at this point, the cold air behind that front will be potent and will linger for a couple of days.
