West Virginia Congressman Nick Rahall is urging FEMA to expedite disaster assistance to the state from Superstorm Sandy.
Congressman Rahall spoke before his committee Tuesday morning to examine FEMA's response to the superstorm. He said West Virginians deserve prompt answers when disaster assistance is critically needed. “Clearly, Sandy is yet another reminder that updates to FEMA guidelines are very
much needed in order to ensure more timely and responsive disaster
assistance,” Rahall said.
A Federal disaster declaration was issued last week for 18 counties in West Virginia. FEMA is currently considering where Individual Assistance will be made available.
