Law enforcement officials in Southern West Virginia are cracking down on DUI's as part of their "Safe and Sober Driving" campaign.
Paul Blume of the Beckley Police Department and the West Virginia Southern Regional Highway Safety Program would like to make everyone aware of this campaign, which runs throughout the entire month of December. The campaign's focus is to make sure everyone has a safe holiday season.
Officers say more people drink and drive during the holidays. "During the holiday season, there is a slight increase in DUI's, with all the families getting together and people coming in and out from out of town," said James Quesenberry of the Beckley Police Department.
