UPDATE:
Officials release the name of the miner killed earlier Friday morning at a Greenbrier County coal mine owned by Alpha Natural Resources.

Representatives from Alpha say that the man is Steven O'Dell, 27, of Mount Nebo.  He was a certified electrician with three years of mining experience and worked for 2 1/2 years at that mine.  Leslie Fitzwater of the state Office of Miners' Health Safety and Training says it happened around 1:30 AM at the Pocahontas Mine A White Buck portal near Rupert.  Investigators say O'Dell was caught between a scoop and a continuous mining machine.  He was pronounced dead shortly afterward at a local hospital.  Fitzwater says this is the state's 6th mining fatality this year.
