When it rains, it floods on Robert C. Byrd Drive, and now the Beckley Sanitary Board is working on that problem.
The project is right off Ewart Avenue in Beckley. A pond is being constructed to collect water at a slower rate so it doesn't flood onto Robert C. Byrd Drive. Luckily for us drivers it should be finished before the spring showers arrive.
"Now Robert C. Byrd Drive flood four to five times a year. The hope is that we make the flooding less severe and less frequent," said General Manager, Jeremiah Johnson.
The project will total about $1 million.
