Runners hit the pavement early Thursday morning in Oak Hill for the 4th Annual Turkey Trot.
Participants donated ten non-perishable food items or $20 to enter. All proceeds form the 5K run or two mile walk went to the Fayette Plateau Ministerial Association Food Pantry.
"It makes you feel great, like you're actually letting someone eat and bringing food to the pantry so they can do their job," said Dr. Scott Killmer.
Joe Allen was running as part of an effort to follow his doctor's orders, but knowing his entry fee was going to help others was an added bonus. "Any time you can reach out and help someone, this is the time to do it."
The race was presented by Active Fitness and Plateau Medical Center.
