You don't see many people sitting on top of a moving truck, but that's what some are doing to help local food pantries.
The Operation Food For Thought food drive kicked off this morning at John Eye's Big Sandy Superstore. The United Way and 103 CIR DJs are sitting on top of a moving truck to get people to donate food. Recent storms left food pantries needing help re-stocking shelves.
"Our most recent storms with the snow and Hurricane Sandy has put a big dent in the pantries that were already hurting. We're just asking people to look at their hearts and deliver some food today," says Margaret Ann O'Neal of the United Way of Southern West Virginia.
Operation Food for Thought continues until 6:00 PM at John Eye's on Industrial Drive.
