UPDATE: A Raleigh County man is in custody after he hit a sheriff's deputy this morning.
Dylan Morgan, 21, was caught in trailer in Raleigh Ridge this afternoon. He'll be charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer. Sheriff Steve Tanner says Morgan allegedly pinned Lt. Randy Burgess between two cars after he was pulled over Thursday morning. He then fled into a wooded area after his car got stuck. Burgess then chased him right after he was ran over.
"After he was struck and run over, the deputy got back in his vehicle, called in and continued the pursuit. He was the first guy trying to chase him over the hill to take him into custody," says Sheriff Steve Tanner. "It's only there that he collapsed to the amount of injuries he sustained while being struck."
Burgess has been released from the hospital. Morgan also had previous warrants out for him.
