The town of Tazewell is remembering the life of Virginia State Trooper Andrew D. Fox.
He died Friday night after he was hit by an SUV in Hanover County. Fox graduated from Tazewell High School in 2003 and later graduated from Virginia Tech. Bobby Moss was one of Andrew's teachers at Tazewell High School. He says Andrew was a great guy and fun to be around. Bobby also remembers him as being as interested in farming as he was in law enforcement.
"The farm he interned at in Pulaski County, he was able to return to and live while he's being a state trooper in Pulaski County," he says.
Tazewell County Sheriff Brian Hieatt hired Andrew as an auxiliary officer while he was chief of the Tazewell Police Dept. He described him as very dedicated to his job and a hard working, good man.
Fox's memorial service is scheduled for Thursday afternoon in Pulaski, Virginia.
