One person was sent to a local hospital after their Fayette County home went up in flames.
A four alarm fire erupted around 7 AM Monday on Rich Creek Road in Jodie. The entire inside of the home near Bridge Fork Road was gutted. Neighbors said the lady resident and her four dogs were able to get out. The extent of her injuries is not known. A nearby relative was glad someone next door was home.
"She come out screaming and yelling, at least that what I was told by neighbors, they ran over and got her and helped her. And the house was burning like crazy and they got her and wrapped her up and called the fire department," said Matt Lloyd, a relative of the victim.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
