UPDATE: State Police continue their investigation into Donald Ray Adams's suicide at the Bluefield City Jail.
Troopers say he was found dead in his cell around 2:45 PM Tuesday. Adams reportedly hung himself a day after he was arrested for killing John Watkins and woundng Monika Watkins in Bluefield. Monika is in critical condition at a Roanoke hospital. Troopers also say he gave no statements hinting that he was going to kill himself.
"I still have a few more people to talk to, but, at this point, I have nothing to show at that he gave any forewarning at all or that there was any wrongdoing by Mr. Adams," says Cpl. A.P. Christian.
Adams was awaiting transport to Southern Regional Jail at the time of his death.

Sources say Donald Adams, 54, used his shoelaces to hang himself around 2:45 Wednesday afternoon in the Bluefield City Jail.
Monday Adams admitted to shooting John Watkins, 79, to death and also shooting Watkins' wife Monica who is now in critical condition.
State Police are handling this investigation.
