West Virginia's fall outdoor burn ban is now in effect.
The Division of Forestry says from October 1 to December 31, it's illegal to conduct any outside burning from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Outdoor burning is allowed during the rest of the day. Forestry officials say weather conditions this time of year can cause fires to get out of control.
They add if you do conduct a burn during permitted hours, make sure to have a ring or safety strip around the fire and stay on the site until the fire is completely out.
