Mercer Fatal Accident

Authorities say no one was wearing their seatbelt in an accident that killed one person that sent two others to the hospital in Mercer County Thursday night. The accident happened around 6 o'clock near Lashmeet on Reece Harmon Road.  The car rolled over and struck a guardrail after climbing an embankment.  No names have been released, but the driver was a male in his forties. Investigators say he claims to have had a vehicle malfunction and lost control. The other passenger was a 15 year old female.  Authorities say drugs and alcohol were not a factor.


One person is dead following an accident in Mercer County Thursday evening.

911 dispatchers say it happened around six Thursday evening near Lashmeet on Reece Harmon Road. One juvenile was killed while two others were taken to the hospital. The accident remains under investigation by the Mercer County Sheriff's Department.
