CHARLESTON - A Beckley man pleaded
guilty to murdering a Kanawha County man whose body was found in Raleigh County
Deveron Patterson, 26, pleaded guilty
to first-degree murder with mercy in the September 2013 death of Kareem Hunter.
Patterson entered the plea in Friday morning in Kanawha County Circuit Court.
Hunter's body was found on October 30, 2013 in a shallow
grave in Harper Heights. Kelsey Legg entered a guilty plea to being an
accessory after the fact to murder for her role in cleaning up the crime scene and
pleaded guilty to attempting to help Patterson and Miguel Quinones hide
Hunter's body, according to county prosecutors.
Quinones' jury trial on first-degree murder and
conspiracy charges is scheduled for October 27. Legg and Patterson are expected
to cooperate and testify in that trial, according to prosecutors.
